I am currently studying a postgraduate degree in Secondary Education at UTS. My area of specialisation is Science; biology, chemistry and physics. I am studying part time at the moment and am also working as an Assitant Radiologist for an American company. I am really interested in learning ways to incorporate technology into the learning environment of my future students. Especially in the area of science where technology in science is continuosly advancing and students need to be up to date with technology and technological practices. Although i do believe that technology and digital media is not the “be all” and “end all” to the education of students in the classroom, it is definelty a tool that is becoming more and more widely used and accepted. The most important point is to use technology appropriately and not just to use it “just for the sake of it”. Students will benefit from the use of a multitude of different teaching styles, those that incorporate technology and those that don’t. The more tools we as teachers have available to us to educate our students the better.
Computers must be female. No one but the creator understands their internal logic. The native language they use to communicate with other computers is incomprehensible to everyone else. The message “Bad command or file name” is about as informative as, “If you don’t know why I’m mad at you, then I’m certainly not going to tell you.” Even the smallest mistakes are stored in long term memory for later retrieval. As soon as you make a commitment to one, you find yourself spending half your paycheck on accessories for it.
